Laser Hair reduction clinic

Laser Hair removal is the treatment of choice for women and men who want to remove hair and feel released from the constant ties of waxing and shaving. Compare the cost of waxing, shaving over a period of time against the convenience and no more fuss and it’s paid for itself!

How lasers work?

The primary principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis (SPTL). Lasers can cause localized damage by selectively heating melanin, in the hair follicle, while not heating the rest of the skin.

Hair growth is defined by three distinct cycles. Anagen, is the cycle of growth, during which the follicle is active. Catagen is the intermediate cycle, in which growth ceases and the follicle regresses. The third cycle, Telogen, is the dormant cycle, in which hair will shed and fall out. Laser hair removal targets hair in the first cycle Anagen. During treatment, the laser light is absorbed by the hair follicle and converted into heat, damaging the follicle and preventing further growth

Which Lasers are used?

1. Long Pulse Diode Laser

2.  IPL (Intense Pulse Light)

How many sessions are needed?

The number of treatments depends on your skin and hair type. The high energy levels of our laser reduces the number of treatments required to achieve hair loss so is overall cost effective compared to extended treatments that are required by lower energy lasers.

Most patients need between 2 to 6 treatments. Afterwards, most patients are free of the unwanted hair for several months. When the hair regrows, most patients see noticeably less hair than before. The hair also tends to be finer and lighter in color.

Who can undergo Laser hair reduction?

Lasers are beneficial for both males and females. In males problems of excessive chest hair, beard and back can be addressed. As for females, whole body hair reduction treatments are useful. Even genital areas can be successfully treated albeit more sittings are needed.

Is there downtime?

No, laser hair removal generally does not require any real downtime. Immediately after having laser hair removal, your treated skin will be red and swollen. Despite this, most people return to their everyday activities.

When will I see the results after having laser hair removal?

You will likely see the results immediately after treatment. The results vary from patient to patient. The color and thickness of your hair, area treated, type of laser used, and color of your skin all affect the results. You can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair after the first treatment.

How long will the results of laser hair removal last?

Most patients remain hair free for months or even years. When some of the hair regrows, it will likely be less noticeable. To keep the area free of hair, a patient may need maintenance laser treatments.
