What are Anti-wrinkle injections/ Botox?

Botulinum Toxin is still the most popular anti-ageing treatment available. It is a naturally occurring protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum.

 

Wrinkles are caused by changes in the skin, around areas where muscles are overactive, for example, around the eyes and mouth.

 

The Botulinum renders muscles temporarily relaxed making the face appear softer, smoother and younger.

 

Areas that can be treated include:

• Frown lines - forehead & area between the brows

• Crow's feet - around eyes

• Bunny lines - on the bridge of the nose

• Necklines - horizontal 'necklace lines' and vertical 'platysmal bands'.

 

Each treatment session usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes and involves between 10 and 15 injections. These are carried out using tiny needles to minimise any discomfort.

 

Is there any downtime after the procedure?

 

There is next to no down time, although activities like exercise should be avoided for at least 6 hours after the treatment.

 

The area should not be touched for 24 hours and a review with your dermatologist should take place 2 to 3 weeks after the first procedure.

How long do the results last?

Results may last between 5-8 months and depend on various factors. A maintenance session can then be planned with your doctor.

What is MESOBOTOX?

 

Procedure:

Small quantities of highly diluted botox is injected into the superficial layers of skin to get desired result. This involves using special meso needles to deliver minute quantities of the substance into the skin. The skin is numbed using a topical numbing cream to make the procedure painless. The individual can return to work immediately after the procedure.

Benefits:

Mesobotox can be used to treat open pores, very fine lines or crinkling of skin seen with aging. Mesobotox has the added advantage of decreasing sweat and oil production in the skin and gives the skin a shiny appearance.

Maintenance:
After a series of 3 sessions, the procedure can be repeated once in 6 months to maintain the achieved results.
